Unhappy HELP -A5 timing belt & water pump Change Trouble

Newbie Here just completed a 2006 Brm TDI Engine timing belt change and water pump change. The post here was excellent - chitty's pictures were perfect. Last night the car started fine, added about one gallon of G12 coolant and everything seemed ok. Today, the yellow engine light came up on the instrument panel and there is a clinging sound.
I think the clinging sound maybe the water pump. What do you think? It was a metal impeller pump made in Germany but it did look a bit different from what came out. This is frustrating because I followed the directions to a tee. Could it be that I put the water pump on too tight ? Or could it be something to do with coolant pressure. Last, do you have to take the timing belt off again if the reason is because too much pressure is on the three water pump screws? If the pump itself is no good I can see having to take the timing belt off - Any Suggestions are greatly appreciated:

It's hard to put on the water pump too tight since if you overtighen the bolts it still won't go further in. You used a torque wrench right?

Probably not coolant pressure but you filled up the coolant system right? The expansion tank is full?

If the pump needs replacement the TB needs to come off again.

FYI, get the error code for the light first before chasing stuff, for all you know you forgot to plug a wire in or the intake hose popped off.

Arrow Thanks chitty

No I didnt use a torque wrench for the three water pump screws just tightened the screws with the torx size which was about T20 to a very tight hand pressure. I did not fill the coolant reservoir to the top but I did put in a whole gallon of G12 coolant. OK I will check the for the error code, but what could have to do with the clinging sound? Wish I could record the thing and post it here.

Always use a torque wrench for essential things, esp engine components, the tendency is to overtoruqe small things and undertorque heavy things. Even a cheap wrench is better than none!

Put it on youtube and then copy/paste the URL into your post, it'll show up.
