The ambient temps had been below freezing for several days proir to this event and then above freezing the day of the occorance. After really pushing HARD on VW the y conceeded that there are problems with the intercooler holding water and relaesing it when it mentsl. I'm absouluty conveinced that the engine was hydrolocked but VW would not admitt to a hydrolock avtually occoring. They stated that if the engine had hydrolocked that it would have blown the glow plugs right out of the head.
The dealer has a new intercooler on order and it should be in with in the next week or so. The dealer has already replaced the same part on another car for the same reasons. VW of north america is loosing their good reputation buy letting this kind of problem out the production facility door, and then really fighting the customer before conceeding to repair the problem. |
