Also, driver's side auto control for the window doesn't work on the up feature. I found some threads for MKIV but nothing for MK5. Anybody experienced anything similar? |

I bought a new harness for something like $130 from 1rst VW parts. The replacement harnesses are made slightly longer so that hopefully, the wires will not fray and cause electrical issues.

Yeah, it was faulty harness. It was repaired a year and a half ago. Before replacing harness I removed and checked door lock module. It was OK, so i bought new harness and - voila! Paid $230 with tax at VW dealership
.
