Default Dogbone Motor Mount Replacement

Has anyone ever replaced the rubber isolators mounts that connect the dogbone at the bottom of the engine to the frame (the hocky puck rubber isolators that slide into the lower engine frame at the back of of the engine)?

If so, how does one go about doing that?

They appear to be an interference fit and I have tried low heat on the frame and freezing the isolators, but still would not slide in and since they are plastic, I did not want to force too much.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I know that companies sell replacement mounts so yes it's possible. You could try them. Here's an article for older cars that may also work: http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/a...nt-VW-Golf.htm

I'm having the same problem. Although I have over 180,000 miles on it. I'm going to change all the mounts. Just need to know how the rubber isolators comes out of the MK5 Jetta. MK4 is easy and different. If any one can help with pics that would be great!!

Thanks,
Mike
