FYi, you could try a recirculating purge, see the FAQ. ONLY DO THIS IF ALL THE FLUID IS BRAND NEW and discard the first few pumps to minimize the chance of dirt or particles damaging the seals. You use a loop from the bleeder back to the reservoir and slowly pump the clutch pedal. It's useful for brand new cylinders since there is probably air trapped in there. You can also do a bench bleed for brand new cylinders. The brakes are much more likely to contain dirt than the clutch slave. Since you already have a presure bleeder that is even better. Try using it while slowly pumping the pedal.

Also, don't worry about pinning the lever for installatino, that is what the manual says but it won't fall out of place unless you really knock something off.

ok, finally. i did 3 things and it worked, so i don't know which it was.
1. new pressure plate
2. new clutch fork/lever
3. new pivot pin

didn't need to bleed the clutch (didn't disconnect it from last time)

two questions:
1. the bolt that holds the shifter broke, so now the shifter can come off the transmission. i tried to look for that part (the 'star' shifter that sits on top of the tranny that the reverse sensor plugs into and where the shifter lock is), but can't find it for sale. any ideas?
2. the bleed screw on the slave is mashed to pieces...how do i get it off and replace it-should i try to drill it?

thanks for all the help.

As a new member I must post once to gain access. You went through 'it' to get that clutch working. I am impressed. Don't know the bolt size for the shifter. If you can get it out take it to ACE - they have a good selection of metric bolts.

Found out tonight my 'guy' kept my car two days without touching it or calling - after I provided a full clutch kit. Now I'm about to start on it myself - after I buy a few 'special' tools. At first you scared me a bit but in the end it made me more determined.
