airbag light

My airbag light came on at the exact time i had the door wiring harness issue(pinch in the driver side door cutting the wires). Is there any way the door harness had anything to do with the airbag or could this just be the recall airbag issue.

I'm not aware of a recall for airbags (but that doesn't mean that there isn't one), but... it would be nice to get a VCDS (Vag-Com) scan of the car to see what the actual fault might be... If you don't have access to a VCDS cable, there's a reliable TDI tech in Lake Villa... Matt Miks... PM me if you need some contact info...
