Default 2010 Jetta TDI Fuel Pressure Faults

I'm new to the site and appreciate any help you guys can offer. My wife's TDI just barely cleared 40k miles and suddenly started loosing power, then after slowing down it would start cutting out at about 1400 rpm. I happen to be right by an auto parts store so they pulled the code saying the fuel rail pressure sensor was bad. I replaced it, replaced the fuel filter, then bought and used the VCDS software to re-pressurize the fuel system. After all this I am getting the following codes (P0191 and P0087) and I think I need replace the fuel pressure regulator on the other side of the fuel rail. The car will start after sitting, run with a slight miss at idle, wont rev over 1500 rpm, will die and not restart after 5 or so minutes of running, and the glow plug light will flash the entire time. I hate throwing parts at any car so I could use someone else's opinion or experience. Thanks for any feedback.

Check the fuel quantity regulator for metal particles.
