On these cars the rotors are cheap - in both senses of the word... Always replace them with the pads.

The thing about modern Dub rotors is that the new thickness and the out of limits thickness dimensions are not very far apart. This means that turning is usually a waste of time because turning them, will most likely make them thinner then the out of limits dimension.
To get an awesome, as good as OEM brake rebuild the standard practice is to replace the rotors, however, many have had kinda OK results with just replacing the pads. Don't get Chinese rotors (Autozone etc.). They will most likely warp after not to many miles. Make sure your mechanic understands this. Real OEM's are not very expensive if you go to the right source such as the trusted vendors on this site. Try BoraParts or ID Parts or numerous other vendors that you will find on this site. |
