06 jetta 155,00 miles Bad Cam?

I have a 06 jetta TDI DSG Brm engine.
It was running fine untill all of a sudden the engine lost power and started to pour out black smoke
and woud idle smoothly but when I turned the engine off I had trouble re- starting and it would stall out when putting the dsg transmission selector lever in drive or reverse.when I tried to reve the engine above 2000 rpm in neutral heard loud knock nose and a lot of black smoke poured out of the air cleaner inlet. oil level full, antifreeze tank full. no oil light on either. the car will not start at all now acts like bad starter or dead battery. I hope the engne has not seized up. whats my next step?

Black smoke out the air intake? Sounds like camshaft has totally failed in a bad way. Do not continue to crank, remove valve cover and check: http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/m...ace-vw-tdi.htm

Removed your egg valve and make sure is not stuck open, also check your turbo boost control. ANY ENGINE LIGHT ON, CODES??
