Hello, My golf is hard to start when its cold, I have to try 5-6 times before the car will start.

I see you are from the south west - what is your definition of Cold
In Alberta we generally see -25 to -35 and my 05 Golf TDI will satrt without a block heater.
Check your glow plugs - there was a recall for my 2005. Other than that it is lack of compression or fuel delivery.
