The steering wheel connects to the steering column. The steering column has a universal-joint at floor level - this is hidden behind a black plastic shroud below the pedals. The shroud is secured by two large plastic screws. When you remove the shroud, you will notice that there is a small pinch-bolt securing the lower part of the u/j to a spline - that spline is input shaft of the steering rack. Unscrew and remove the pinch bolT, and lift the steering wheel to it's maximum height adjustment, and the u/j will pop right off, the steering rack splined input shaft.
