Angry Red BRAKE Light on Instrument Cluster?

I have a 1999 New Beetle. I'm down to one "Warning" light on the instrument Cluster. It says, "BRAKE", and it's RED. I just replaced my Emergency Brake cables, both rear Brake Lines, Front Rotors & Pads, and a front ABS sensor. I had to refill the fluid. The Brakes work perfect. Have I over-filled the reservior, or adjusted the E-Brake Cable too tight?

lift the rear end and secure it on jack stands, try to spin each rear wheel and see if they rotate freely. If the wheels rotate normally without any drag, then most likely you have disturbed the brake swithc where the handle is, so check wiring and swithc in that area.

The rear wheels do not rotate freely. I have the E-Brake cables adjusted wrong. I suppose I'll have to remove the center console?

Almir, you were correct. The brake switch was out of it's proper location. Thank you.

Estergard- were you getting a beep too when you drove the car over 10 mph? I'm having a similar issue with the brake light being on, but I've been told it looks like the wire from the master cylinder shorting out or otherwise giving a bad feed. Once I drive the car with it beeping while rolling for about 5 miles, it stops. The rears roll free and the hand brake isn't engaged, so I'd rather not replace the master cylinder just for a "bad wire".

My car was not driveable, at the time. I was fixing some little "kinks" while the car was down...waiting for a MAF sensor in the mail. However...my light was from the WARNING switch on the E Brake Lever. You are getting an error code from the sensor on your fluuid reservoir.
