I have a 2001 polo classic 1.9 tdi 90 hp. Whenever driving past 90 km/h it starts to overheat. When i drive under, there is no problems, even driving for a good amount of time. I've changed the thermostat, flushed the radiator. The coolant is clear. It needs an oil change, but that would not cause it, would it? Only fault code was 17978. Hope to get some help here... Thank you very much... René |

Maybe it's the water pump, they do break and can cause these sort of issues. As for the code that's for the immo but you might just be able to clear it as the car's starting fine.
