Default Passat help request - today?

I'm just minding my own bizniz, doing my 100k service to be followed by new motor mounts, when during inspection I see this.

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v6...at%20TDI/100k/

I looks and feels like oil, but it's not black like the motor oil, it's dark golden brown.
As you can see there is some on the exhaust pipe also. This is the passenger side and the pix are upside down of course, looking up.
What is happening and how do I fix it?
Thanks in advance.

Yes but a common leak is this one,. http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/b...engine-tdi.htm make sure no oil is leaking down because it gets all blown around. Maybe you just changed the oil ? But yeah, not coolant or PS fluid so must be something else

That one plagued me early on, so I've had a band clamp there most of its life. I'll recheck it.
Could it be the axle flange seal?

Maybe, IMHO clean it and drive around a bit to confirm where it's leaking from or start removing stuff to ID.

Well I checked the diff fluid level and it seemed a bit low, so I added about 4 oz before it dripped out.
I'll keep an eye out for more leakage. A seal job looks like a good combo with a cv boot job in the future.
