Default Glove Box Light

Hi, I have a 2003 jetta and I am trying to figure out why the glove box light isn't working. I replaced the bulb, that wasn't it and the spring to turn it on is also working fine. No other lights on the inside are out, so I don't think it's a fuse. I'm not too handy around cars so any advice would be helpful.

Thanks

Check the fusebox. If it's OK, use a multimeter to test the bulb socket to see if it's getting 12 volts when the door is open. If not you have a wire break somewhere or the switch isn't working. So remove glovebox and test switch. this should help http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/a...eboxrepair.htm

I just checked and the footwell light on the passenger side is out as well. The bulbs are working just fine and there is power going to at least the passenger side. However, there was no ground. So I'm going to have to take the door panel off the find the problem. Not really sure where to begin on that one.
