Default fuel temp sensor

I think my 2003 Jetta has a problem with its fuel temps sensor. It always says 91 deg with the tdi timing checker, thus "engine not warm enought"...could it be related to the fact that i am in very cold weather now ? (much below freezing point). Fuel never read high, even after 1h highway drive.

I understand now that it is under the top cover of the pump...is there any write-ups for that, and where can i get such temp sensor (other than the stealer) ? most current parts store dont list such sensor...only coolant sensors.

thanks !

See dieselgeek.com He has everything you need to change the sensor, dont forget the special socket you need to remove the top cover, he has that also.

how common is this to fail, and show only 91 deg ? pump felt cold to the hand when i did this...can it get that much hot (120-130) even in cold climate ?
