Body differences...

Someone rear ended my car and I decided to fix it myself. My MKIV is 2000. I went to the junk yard and bought a trunk from a trunk from an 05 model. The lower portion of the trunk does not fit properly. Is anybody aware of body changes from different years of the same generation?

I thought the trunk lid was compatible but you say it's not so I guess not.

I take back what I said. I purchased a trunk lid from a junk yard and it did not fit. Then I went and purchased another trunk lid matching the YOM and same problem. Took it to a body shop and the car had to be placed in a machine to correct the body damages. Once they fixed it it all works out.

All trunk lids from years 1999 to 2005 MKIV Jettas will fit.
