Audio upgraded front speakers still on?

I upgraded the stereo system a while back and just noticed that the front two speakers are still making noise/faint sound. The factory monsoon went to the garbage. Changed out to alpine head unit. Used the usual factory harness with the quick connect to the back of the stereo. I believe that i used the factory ground. Maybe i need to run my own ground? is this some kind of vw cork? If anyone has ran into this please let me know. Thanks

I took out the k-line pin from the stereo plug, wired the battery live and ignition live together on the stereo (it has an extra plug thing for it) to have them both to the battery live and it all works great. I wonder if it could be the k-line or the battery and ignition live wires the wrong way round.
