Default 5th gear shot again!
About 5,000 miles ago I had to replace the 5th gear on my wife's 2006 TDI Bug. I got a taller gear set and it was GREAT; until the other day when she was driving home on the interstate with the cruise set. It acted like it went to neutral she said. I took the side cover off when she got home, and the CENTER of the small gear was just spinning on the shaft!! The gear must be pretty damm soft, and now it is striped and has striped the teeth on the shaft too.

I have sent the company pictures a few days ago; have not heard from them yet, kinda funny.....

That's a bummer, I expect the company will take a while to get back to you. I wonder what went wrong.
