2005 Jetta overboost PIA

Hello I am new here and trying to diagnose an overboost condition on my 2005 Jetta TDI (BEW). Currently I have the trubo off for a cleaning and the intake off and things dont really look that bad carbon wise. Any tips on anything I should be keeping an eye on while I have it apart would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello I am new here and am trying to diagnose an overboost condition on my 2005 Jetta TDI (BEW). I have the turbo and intake off and am trying to get the turbo apart right now for cleaning. The intake had some soot but wasn't that bad IMO. I would appreciate any tips while I have it disassembled. Thanks

What else have you checked? There's lots of possible causes. Take a look at the limp mode troubleshooting in the FAQ and the possible causes of limp mode.
