The vag com states the timing is too far retarded, but if I try to advance it, I cannot start the car Any help would be beneficial bill |

Are you checking it in basic settings? And you've selected your engine? And the timing line is way below the blue one? Just to clarify.

following forums and bently manual, the only way to get the car to run is fully retaded, if i try to advance even a little bit, i cannot start the car
yes im using vag com in basic setting, the car actually stalled when switched to basic settings |

If it's that retarded it's probably almost to advanced when you retard it as far as possible, maybe you need to take it fairly far forward to get it within specs. If you think of the timing like a circle going from 0 - 255 degrees, so when you're say 5 degrees you're almost back at being extremely advanced. If that makes sense lol. If you're 100% sure everything is pefectly lined up then have you tried the pump really far forward?
