Default 2001 TDI smoking problem

Can't seem to get the car from smoking I think the timing is off from what I read about the timing belt replacement. I think I miss the injection pump hole alignment, also the tensioner tab seems to fall out of holding hole sometimes when applying spanner wrench. Wanted to read reinstall section so I posted this problem

If you really did miss the injection pump hole it normally won't start. See the articles for how to check its position.

The tensioner tab should NEVER fall out! NEVER! Sorry to use all caps but it's critical that it not fall out of the slot. There is something majorly wrong with your parts or technique. Make sure the tab is not bent and the tensinoer is correect. If you are experiencing this problem it will not last long before the TB fails.

Well I will replace the tensioner it might be bent tab and not worth the risk of breaking and I'm pretty sure that I had the wrong hole on injection pump after reading your post on timing belt changes
