Default 03 jetta tdi, need to change timing belt

Can a good diesel guy change this with step by step instructions or should this be left for the pros??

Just follow the faq, I think you'll find it's not to bad if you can wield a spanner.

If you can resist the temptation to take shortcuts (such as not using proper lockdown tools) and make sure to use good quality parts (without leaving out any essential ones) from a reputable vendor (NOT one from North Carolina!!!), you should be able to do a better job than the typical "pro"... (as they're usually pressed for time and most of the ones in the U.S. don't have all that much familiarity with these engines...)

Remember the old adage: "Measure twice, cut once"?? Just interpret it to apply to mechanical work...

do you have to reset the injection pump and is it possibe to find measurements on a cam locking tool that bolts on?? were planning to install it in two weeks.. thanks, jim
