Default Speedometer needle jumping

Hello,
Had my starter motor refurbished, and now speedometer needle sometimes looses signal. Where is the VSS on 1Z, maybe I accidently broke some wires.

IIRC it should be on the rear of the transmission above the differential. It could also be some worn and chafed wiring. The bracket above the starter bends the wires and is also a spot where it can rub. Check ALL the wiring there because a short there caused my injection pump to die.

besides wiring issues, I once encountered a similar jumping speedometer needle issue caused by the damaged plastic drive gear on the transmission speedo sensor.
