replace dashboard on passat b5 1997

i will replace the dashboard on a passat b5 1997 ,but i hear that i must to have the skc code to do that adaption with the vcds for the new dashboard with the immo.where and how can i retrieve this skc code?sorry for my bad english.thanks in advance

I'm not sure about the 1997 because it was a first year car. If it does, it has the immobilizer 1 which we didn't have in the US so I can't tell you much about it. See the immo FAQ, it shouldn't be too different from immobilizer 2.
