Default Electrical Problems

I recently had a friend re-wire my golf mk3 tdi radio so that it wouldn't be disconnected by removing the key from the ignition, in other words, wire it to the permanent power. During this there were a few sparks and a short while after, a small relay switch burns out causing the electric window motors to burn out. Having just re-installed a new pair the windows now work again yet there are issues with the central locking (not working - no motor at all or air lock issue/leaking, just a dead lock on the driver's door and the passenger's door which can be opened by the key) in addition the fan has stopped working, intermittently...

Could this all be related to a short circuit? Could this have been caused by radio re-wiring? Could this also be linked to my limp mode problem?

Thanks

It is probably not related to limp mode as it should be a different wire harness.

The door thing could be, see here for some wiring diagrams and start troubleshooting. http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/a...leshooting.htm

Limp mode is now fixed and you're right not related, in addition the dash now dies with the ignition, so that the when starting the car the clock is always at 0:00. Fan and Central Locking not working, i'll look into the wiring but am concerned that a short curcuit somewhere may be impossible to find...

Thanks, for your help
