Hi Chittibangbang,
I asked that question because I could not see a relay 109 or a 601 up side down. today I looked again and also removed the steel panel below the lower cover and my VW Jetta does not have a relay 109 or the upside down 601.
Would there be a problem with a glow plugs or would I just change all four??

THANKS AGAIN.

can you see the relay panel? I know your car has a relay 109 since I used to have one. This relay doesn't control the glow plugs, it controls power to the ECU.

Wink 1996 Jetta tdi 5 speed

Hi Chittichittibangbang,
I'm not having much luck with this Jetta.....
I've fixed the bubbles in the gas lines.
I'm now having problems with my speedo & tachmeter.
They started playing up a few weeks ago, where I got inmittenent speedo and tachometer, usually when I started the Jetta first thing in the morning it would work, the water temp and gas gauges have allways worked, also the mileage and clock.
Now only the clock works everything else has stopped.
I deffenetely don't have a 109 relay, the nearest is a 104 in the12 slot.

I hope someone can help me sort this as I'm thinking of getting rid of the car.
