Automatic Rain Sensor

I have a 2012 Passat TDI SE, and I was reading somewhere that the automatic rain sensor can be activated by the dealer. I took the car in, and asked them to activate it, but they told me that the SE does not have this function. I showed him the sensor, behind the rear view mirror, but he told me that that's the "standard mirror mount"..
I wonder if he just has no clue, or perhaps he's telling me the truth?

They wouldn't have it unless one of the mechanics has it for himself but they are able to access this coding. They're not able to access every option that VCDS can but from what I've heard, dealers are able to do this.

Just depends on the dealer. The more savvy ones are open to such requests, but not typical.

Yeah my dealer said "You don't have rain sensing wipers". I have a TDI SEL so I knew I did. I found a local VW tech that was an enthusiast and he turned it on for some beer.

I took the car back to the dealer, with the printout of the procedure to turn the rain sensor on. Tech manager looked at it, and said that according to the factory options (in his computer), the TDI SE does not have the rain sensor...End of discussion!
Where can I find somebody who has the VAG COM?
