I worked out the solution with the OP, the unit was defective and was replaced, all is good now!

If you dont mind I asking a question from here:

I also installed an RNS315 from a small local garage, worked fine for 2days. Yesterday, I drove on motorway and suddenly lost signal (sat-nav was shifting around).

From then, I tried so many times to turn off and on, manufatory resit, key in new destinations, what happened was the Navigation sometimes planed the route, but sometimes it stuck during calculating. If routes were planned, it never followed while I was driving. Signal came back if I stopped for 30secs, then stuck there again when i started to drive again.

Could it be an antenna problem? If so why is worked for initial 2 days then went wrong?

The navigation unit never come with CD (as I was told by the garage its already installed -- plus I am quite new to this + testing turned out good)

Thanks in advance.

Same thing happened to me. A new unit worked fine for a few days and then went bad. Show them the symptoms and return it. In my case it was a bad connection or wire somewhere in the unit.
