I own the micro-CAN with VCDS software and I did some checks on my 2005 Golf Plus 2.0 TDI. It seems all working fine. No fault codes detected. Suppose that someone before me just erased the EEPROM memory of the ECU Bosch EDC16 of my car... Is the VCDS software able to find this action? And is it possible to read the real system time clock of the ECU/car? Thanks for your help Enrico |

I know there is a way to see if the ECU has been modified but I also know that it can be rewritten to make it look original. Ask a chip tuner for the exact location of this but I don't know if VCDS can see it.

Welcome to the forum Enrico.
![]() A dealer will scan it and tell you if its been chipped but it will cost you. They are supposed to check all vehicles that come back with engine problems while it under warranty so they can void the warranty. Car: Golf Plus 2.0 TDI Please add 2005 to your car spec?

Thank you for your answer.
I went to an official dealer and they connected the ECU to their tester. The guy told me that he didn't see anything strange but also told me 'we have some parameters locked'... So I'd like to solve my doubt by myself. I am also asking some technical question to Ross-Tech (VCDS manufacturer). For example, where I can read the system clock of the ECU? Any change should be associated with a specific day/month/year. My car is equipped with ECU edc 16. |
