Obligatory new member post

Greetings, all. I'm a new member way out at Point Reyes, California. My partner has a 2005 Passat TDI wagon that I'm trying to take care of. It's been mostly trouble-free for the four years that we've had it, I'm pleased to report. We've run mostly B99 in it all along, with no apparent ill effects.

Please pay particular attention to the section dealing with the balance shaft, as that deals with a design flaw that must be corrected if the car is to last as long as it should.
