Default New User from NY

I've had my TDI for a year now and we are about to tackle the Timing belt/water pump etc replacement. Quite involved but feel confident with all the posts from this forum.

I have a 2005 Passat Wagon TDI with 106K miles on the original Timing Belt....so it's due and needs to be done before I drive it down to Texas!

Any gotchas....feel free to shoot them my way...I bought the recommended kit from the details replacement thread.

Thanks,

Yes, also check out the balance shaft issue in the FAQ, the best time to change is on belt replacement time. You never know, maybe it could fail on the drive to TX!
