Default New to the TDI world, 2004 Jetta Wagon and tool question

Hey folks,

I just purchased a 2004 Jetta Wagon TDI with about 164k miles. I plan on doing as much of the work on the car as I can. I'm trying to build back up a service history as I bought the car with at least 20k miles of history missing.

I'm starting with:
Timing Belt replacement(by Appalachian Diesel works in Asheville)
Camshaft replacment(also by Appalachian Diesel Works)
Suspesion Refresh(Koni Srt.t or FSD)
Panzer Plate install.

One thing I haven't found yet is a listing of basic tools needed to work on my PD. I see that I need a variety of Torx bits. Is there a full list of tools needed? Are there any pozidriv screws in the car for example? Any other triple square bits needed besides the ones on the crank sprocket, etc?

Thanks,

Calvin from Asheville.

It depends on how much you want to do. There are lots and I would just get a set of torx. T20, T25, and T30 are the most common. The crank sprocket is a 12 point socket, not triple square.
