I am a new member with a 2006 Jetta TDI BRM A5 with 80,000 miles and i hear that I should replace the timing belt soon to avoid problems. My nearest VW dealer is 200 miles away and will need to do it myself. I am pretty mechanically competent but was looking for some hints on how to do it to save some time. The website looks pretty good so far. Thanks Jim |

See the mk5 DIY list, also do a cam check, 80,0000 miles is when they start to wear out. Good luck!
