Default New guy from Minnesota

Hi i am new to this forum stuff.
I have recently bought 1998 Jetta TDI.
I plan to do all mechanical work myself.
I am a machinist with ok mechanical skills...
Next weekend will be tackling the timing belt.
look forward to sharing problems / challenges / solutions with you all.

You'll be fine as long as you take your time and pay attention to what you're doing, I always get it totally clear in my head with stuff like how the tensioner fits and works first then install it. Things like that really cut down on the possibility of it going wrong I reckon.
