Default I want a tdi bad!

Hey guys I'm from Orbisonia,PA. For about the past month I've had a itch for wanting a jetta tdi. To be exact I want a mk4 gls with a 5 speed . I'm really into diesel trucks mostly. I own a f250 powerstroke. All lifted up and looking good haha. But for a car I only have a chevy cavalier. Those cars are very cheaply made but you can't beat them in dependablity but i'm wanting to upgrade to something nicer. So I'm basically looking for a fixer upper jetta for cheap. Or is that a bad idea (money pit)

Generally, VW require more maintenance and parts are more expensive. But tons of part availability, really good mileage, and the 99-03 are still the best in mpg and engine reliability. Check out the mk4 new buying guide in FAQ for list of common problems.

Looks I'm looking for a 99.5-03 then. I think I found a car over on tdiclub that needs engine work.

There is so much info on this site its insane. Thank you!
