I am an avid VW fan. I have a 03 Jetta 1.8T and my wife has an 02 Cabrio. I hope to have in the near future a Jetta TDI! My son has several and he is an enthusiat as well. I enjoy working on them and look for cars that have some kind of major mechanical or electrical problem and then fix them for sale or our personal use. My son and I have a saying we use; "Anybody can buy a car that runs" My aim would to put TDI engine in an MKIV Jetta (probably a PD) and tune it for a combination of performance as well as economy. I look forward to maybe throwing in where I know how.

Here's my saying: "never build a car that you can easily buy" Lots of fixer upper PD cars out there already and the time and energy put into a TDI swap is a lot. IMHO, not worth the effort when the cars are already mostly depreciated.
