Default Hello from Libertyville, IL

Hello to all:

2002 Jetta TDI, 201 K. Working on replacing the VNT Turbo Actuator (JasonTDI just did my 200 K Timing Belt, and told me mine was failing). Already have the new part in hand from idParts, but was wanting to look at the How-To here on this site.

Hoping this also "fixes" the strange Loon-whistle sound that comes from that general vicinity when the car is shut down in high humidity / high heat conditions -- but that is a shot in the dark for now. Might actually be an AC problem.

Other things that need doing: replace Passenger side door switch / sensor -- DOA; replace antenna base (starting to loose AM, and some FM); replace plunger that opens the trunk via the remote or door switch (it stops working whenever outside temperature is above 85 or so).

Cheers!

loon sounds like something either related to anti shudder valve but AC is also a good guess.

It is likely the ASV releasing the pressure after the shut off.
