Default Hello
I have a 2001 VW Jetta VR6 that I've owned for about nine years now. I think I'm having a problem with my immobilizer. I have two keys and I've tried them both, so it's got to be a problem with the reader in the car. I'm hoping the "secret info" in the Immobilizer FAQ will help me get the car to the dealer without having to pay for a tow.

I'm in Tualatin OR and my dealer is in Gladstone.

It might but if the problem really is the ignition antenna, needs to be replaced. Sometimes the wiring goes bad.

Default It worked!
I tried the old "disconnect the battery" trick and it worked. The car started right up. Haven't had a problem since.

Thanks for the excellent FAQ. Saved me a towing bill.
