Default 2006 Beetle TDI For Sale

Ladies and Gents: I decided to sell my 2006 VW Beetle TDI PD BEW; 81,000 miles. The 100,000 mile service including timing belt, tensioner, water pump, fuel filter and lines, and all recommended replacement items; completed at 74,400. I later changed the oil/filter at 78,500 for the winter. Included is a class one trailer hitch/wiring harness. I'll even throw in the special tools and set of new snow tires mounted on steel wheels. I love this car but my job has morphed requiring me to drive out to weapons ranges and rough roads. I'll have to get a Jeep Wrangler or something else. I posted the Beetle on Craigslist Watertown NY. This Beetle has absolutely no mechanical problems and runs great (40-43 mpg). This was a Florida car and saw only two winters in NY; I'll miss this car and the great fuel mileage but I have to go back to a gas guzzler. I listed it for $12,500 but want to sell.

DSG transmission? Have you changed fluid at 40,000 mile intervals?

Good luck with the sale!

Red face 2006 Beetle TDI

The tranny fluid and tranny filter were replaced at the same time the Mechatronics Assy was replaced last summer. As stated, the car is 100 percent serviced and mechanically sound. I just need a vehicle with more ground clearance for work and perhaps hunting next year. The Beetle was great when I needed to travel to different schools to coach basketball but I can't find a coaching position plus my job doesn't allow the flex time to coach any more. I basically gave up coaching which I love to do. I can't handle the gas mileage of a Jeep Wrangler but I need to find something similar.

Smile Traded in 2006 Beetle TDI

Due to economy and poor market for used TDIs, I traded in my 2006 Beetle TDI on a new RAM Dakota Crew Cab 4X4 pickup. The VW/Dodge dealership where I bought my Beetle TDI a few years ago offered me the best trade in value. I had the car on Craigslist for a few weeks but no legitimate offers. I wanted $12,500 but would have taken $11,000. The dealer gave me $10,000 trade in plus a sizeable mark down on the pickup. I guess Dodge gave the dealers special incentives to move them since this is the last year of the Dakota. I know the Dakota has not received good reviews over the years but neither has the Beetle for that matter. I will miss 40 mpg but it feels good to have 300 hp, 4X4 for snow covered roads and good ground clearance.

This is my last post on this forum. Thanks to all for help on vehicle issues that popped up on my Beetle. Now I need to sell my Bentley manual and deal with the extra cost at the gas station.

Thanks Again:

I would say if you listed it for $11000 it would have sold quickly.
