Default My 2011 VW golf tdi issues

Here is the story of my 2011 VW Golf TDI I purchased new June 15th 2011. i dont know if anyone cares but after my recent VW service experiences i've started a review forum for VW dealers. moderators please remove this link if you feel its spam.

-On pick up: Rear Latch not latching hatch would open even when locked

12/28/2012 @ 9,273 Miles -DSG transmission: False Neutrals fixed with reflash of TCM @ 10,000 mile service

12/28/2012 @ 9,273 miles -Fuel line recall

4/26/2012 @ 19,164 miles-Seal ordered at 20,000 mile service (loaner car)

5/7/2012 Parts arrive at Russell VW in Catonsville, MD

5/10/2012 @ ~20340Miles-Parts installed. Seal incorrectly/messily(excess silicone all over door smudges on window) installed with damage being done to surrounding trim at (waited 2 hours when was quoted 1 hour for install)

5/15-/2012 - 5/16/2012 @20,297 miles -Seal incorrectly installed 1 week later with door panel being replaced took 2 days door seal still leaked in next rain, tweater trim panel was incorectly installed (loaner car 2 days)

5/29/2012 -6/1/2012 Handed the following letter to service manager on drop off (this is stapled to the service write up at the dealer), pointed out all items of concern to him which were acknowledged.

Quote:
Please replace the outer door seal (incorrectly installed by Russel VW), the drivers side tweeter pod (damaged by Russel VW from having door panel installed over it) . Im guessing if the outer door seal is replaced correctly it will still leak, as I feel the inner door seal (around the body) is faulty. Also please look into the alignment of the door and the engadgement of the striker, the door makes a lot of noise when turning into drive ways and speed bumps at an angle. Thanks for helping with this. I would like the job to be done correctly as Russel VW has tried twice already and each time they end up doing more damage. I don’t mind waiting as long as the job is done correctly. If you or one of your service techs has any questions feel free to call me. Thanks Again.
6/1/2012 went to pick up vehicle. requested outer and inner door seal replaced striker and door alignment verified, as well as the tweeter which had stress marks from being bent out of shape. Outer door seal was not touched, tweeter trim panel was not replaced “door passes dollar bill test- cant get them tighter than that"– Service manager @Dar Cars Silver Spring, MD

6/7/2012 was told my vehicle was ready, outer door seal incorrectly installed, door alignment off

6/7/2012 Jill @ VW customer care offered me 1 car payment for my troubles or $1500 towards a new VW for customer loyalty.

6/8/2012 was told my vehicle was ready, outer door seal incorrectly installed, inner door seal incorrectly installed, pry marks on inner door panel (second time) door alignment still off

6/11/2012 Received voice mail from Emily with the Executive offices, returned call awaiting call back

I am currently awaiting resolution of this issue.

my main issue has been with the service ive been receiving, i didnt mind the latch issue, or the DSG reprogram. i do mind pointing out the issues with the dealers work twice a week to show up and see its still not fixed.

and unfortunately while im out of the mileage in Maryland a lemon is only when you are left stranded

I think it may be time to go to another VW dealership if that is possible. This dealership sounds like a real loser. They seem to be giving you a lot of

I'm fortunate, in my area there are three VW dealerships to choose from. Two of them, I would not go to. The third, where I bought my vehicle, has the best service department I've ever experienced in my 36 years of driving.

I wish you well and hope you can get closure on these issues. VW corporate should be stepping up to bat for you in my opinion.

I second the idea to try more dealers, I've been to two so far trying to fix my vibration issue. As in your case, stuff always comes back broken without the problem being solved. Working with door trim isn't hard with the right tools and time. A $6 set of trim tools from harbour freight has worked for me.

Although I'm a person to avoid dealers at all costs, cost is the issue here since our cars are under warranty.

Do try another dealer if possible, and if no resolution go back to VW directly (with written letters). That's my next step if my car isn't fixed the next time I go in (5th or 6th, I've lost count).

You'd think vw would keep tabs on how many times a VIN comes into the stealership, and then a red flag would go off where they contact the dealership and say (stop wasting our money). I don't get it...
