Default I'm a real member now

Bought a 2010 Jetta Wagon, manual, 17 inch wheels after reading this site while trying to decide what to get.
This one has 65000 miles , comes with extended warranty. Ride home was great, a lot to take in figuring out the instruments and menus. It has the multifunction steering wheel and the base blueray system. Having some trouble getting the phone to work, is there past blogs on this subject.
I'll slog through the manuals before asking more questions, but if anyone has comments about maintenance or add ons let me know. I am looking for a set of wheels and snow tires.
So far I really like it and feel this could be in my life for a long time.
Bob

Base blueray system? Not sure on what that means because no system came stock with a blueray player. There's a sticky post in the mk5 or mk6 forum with bluetooth compatibility.

Slogging through the manual is definitely a chore, as it J's poorly organized. It does, however, contain a lot of great information.

Congratulations Bob, you can now change your car spec?

I bet it never cooled off with 65,000 miles on the clock?

Previous owner was a salesman, mostly highway miles.

That should have been base "bluetooth". I'm slowly getting it figured out.

Salesmen/reps have a different reputation as drivers in the UK than they do here. A lot of highway miles on a young TDI, which the rep most certainly owned himself (not a fleet car), is not a reason for concern.

With that said, however, I would personally never own one of these cars out of warranty, no matter how well it was maintained. My own experience with VWs, as well as my family's (My parents have had 3 Passats), has been rather fortunate: no major headaches. Still, they always had extended (or third party warranties when bought used), and they always payed off.

There is an extended warranty, 35,000 miles or 2 years left on it. That was one reason for buying it.
Also it was serviced at the dealer and just had the 60,000 service done.
I am off to a real good start and like the car a lot. No second thoughts at all.
