How reliable is the MK6 Golf TDI?

My 2009 JSW TDI went 45,000 trouble free miles before I traded it in on a 2012 JSW TDI. One of the two dealers that did warranty oil changes etc added the wrong anti freeze to it and caused a problem that I didn't catch until out of warranty. With this car, I will have serious discussions with the dealer before each warranty servicing to insure I don't have a repeat. I'll also look at the overflow tank before I leave the dealer (It changes color if the wrong stuff is added).

I haven't had any problems with my 2010 Golf TDI. It's only got about 5,000 miles on it. It is fun to drive with a tight, sporty feel to it. I have a 2001 Toyota Tacoma truck that I bought new 11 years ago, and it's got over 120,000 miles on it with zero problems. If reliability was my number one consideration, I would buy a Toyota or a Honda. But if you want something that is more fun to drive and very fuel efficient, the TDI fits that bill nicely.
