Although I haven't looked in all the major supermarkets in the Phoenix area, three we shop at carry the 42 ounce bottles - usually on sale for about $1 per bottle once a month or so. I haven't looked at Walmart (but I will next trip) but others have bought them there (and IIRC cheaper than $1 per bottle). Also, the bottles are shown on Walmart's website as available at many stores in AZ.

There may be other semi-rigid, wider mouth drink bottles that might work well but the fact that the 42 ounce bottle have about 6 ounces of air in them after filling with B99 and PS makes them very easy to pour into the filler neck with no spilling.

Happy hunting.

Considering VWoA's tendency to deny warranty replacement after fuel pump destruction, I will use Opti-lube in my 2011 Golf TDI for now and wait to see if the problem is fixed in the 2011s.

I buy biodiesel B99 by the gallon 4 gallons at a time. I fill up about 32 oz into an Arizona Iced Tea containter that has been washed out and dried in advance the first time it is used. I put it in the trunk the morning I am going to fill up with work, pour it in the tank at the pump, then add 12 to 14 gallons of D2 to top off in my 2002 Jetta, giving me around B2. Every 2 or 3 tanks, I'll add 4 oz of Power Service Diesel Kleen, it does indeed keep the nozzles clean if used regularly.

Default additive storage

I just started using additives (PS) and this is what I'm using and it works perfect for me. I read it on one of the threads on a site. I went to a store here in Atlanta called REI and bought 3-4oz bottles.(They are in the camping section and look like medicine bottles.) I then went and found a sandwich container for camping and lined it with paper towels. It fits perfectly and you can store enough for 3 refuelings. Just be sure to grab the nalogen bottles. They are thicker then the other bottles. I know it was asked almost a year ago, but figured this could be a good update for the site.

To prevent any smell inside the car, I use small two stroke oil additive bottles (about 3 oz) and mix my additive to an equal amount of raw fuel. I then fit three of them inside a glass jar and keep it in the side well of the JSW. They are double sealed and each small bottle is good for one fueling.

The cap seals tight and the long neck makes pouring into the tank easy and spill-free. I always have a full one in our Golf and so far my especially odor-sensitive spouse has no complaints. I keep 'em in the right rear door storage pocket, w/ a box of cheap latex gloves--both the additive and the fuel itself can stink when you get the stuff on your hands!
I do the same, only I keep a couple of 'em in a sealed plastic box in the trunk when I'm on the road. Box is small, takes up little space and keeps the trunk clean and odor free.... At home I only take a bottle with when I'm headed out to fill up, and don't have to do that very often

Default Diesel additive

I've been using Stanadyne Performance Forumula since my 1st fill-up. I bought a bottle of the "Junior" 8 -oz size since it has a long neck, and several 16-oz bottles which I use to refill the 8-oz bottle. I've scribed a line in the Junior bottle at 8-oz and 4-oz with a Sharpie.

I keep a cylindrical plastic container which fits snugly upright in the rear storage compartment in my trunk into which I place the 8-oz bottle to keep it upright as well. No spills or odors.

I have been using FPPF in my 2010 jetta tdi seems to be working great. to controll the FPPF i went to lows and bought a industrial chemical spray bottle for a total of 0.98 cents, that has all the graduated measuring marks up to 32 onunces which is plenty for me as i dont do a ton of driving. its made to hold all kinds of chemicals from cleaners to heavy weed sprays. i have a milk crate in the trunk to hold my jumper cables and other tools but the spray handle makes an excellent hook to hold the bottle up and with the narrow neck on it i have no spillage at all when i fill up. its a good cheap way to store your fuel additives. just

Stanadyne is an OEM of diesel fuel injection systems and also makes several additives. I use Stanadyne's Performance Formula with each fill-up; adding the appropriate amount for the number of gallons pumped.

Left to right: 5 gallon biodiesel container with spout, 6oz Gumout container that I measured and marked in 1oz increments - holds my Diesel Keel, 1L/32oz Nalgene bottle that I fill with biodiesel

The Nalgene and Gumout bottles go into a large Ziploc storage bag...

and then into the storage area on the left side of my JSW's trunk.
