I haven't bought the Jetta TDI yet, still waiting to get the test drive. I am currently driving a 2000 Subaru Legacy L wagon with over 276,000 km on it, but I think my driving characteristics would favor a turbo diesel as I do mostly long drives on weekends while the car sits in the carport during the week (I ride my bicycle everywhere). Curious to see how the TDI handles with that beam rear suspension; would have been nice to have the fully-independent suspension. I am planning on getting the 6spd, with only the sunroof option. I don't consider it "driving" unless you're shiftng the gears yourself. (I have NEVER owned a car with an automatic, and am proud of it!) One question: can you control the intervals for the windshield wipers? There's nothing on the wipers anywhere... Thanks! Luis |

There isn't? Isn't there a small dial on the windshield wiper stalk?

Welcome.
I can't comment on the handling of the 'beam rear suspension' as I have a JSW that does have fully-independent rear suspension, it handles great BTW. As for the interval wipers? Yes, you can control the interval and it's also speed dependant. |
