Default Ground Clearance

I read that JSW has ground clearance of 5.4 in (138mm).
Is this kind of low? Any problems when driving on roads with potholes? How low does the car get, when 5 people sit in it?
How does it feel in general?
Thanks in advance!

Yep- they are low- be extremely care parking around concrete parking blocks. I am the unhappy owner of a 3 month old JSW with the front bumper half ripped off. I am taking it for repair tomorrow- VW will balk about doing anything about it- it is an ongoing VW issue for at least 10 year.
As far as potholes and the like, of course I try to avoid- but if I have to drive over one- I am going reasonable slow. I haven't found it to be an issue- typically it is only myself, and sometimes my wife in the car.
One just has to be VERY careful.

I'll be ordering a Panzer plate here in a week or so to survive the winter.

I've actually lowered mine... so I've only got 4.5" or so.

Where are you ordering the Panzer plate, and how did you lower yours, and why?

I too am considering the Panzer as it is too low and my wife has a habit of nosing over curbs...

We had a Panzer plate on our Mk IV Jetta 1.8t. It was awesome. Very strong and would actually protect the oil pan unlike the factory belly pan.

You can find Panzer plates here www.dieselgeek.com/category_s/1829.htm

Great company to deal with.

cheers

I'm so scared of doing that too. I end up leaving a ridiculous space between the front of the car and the curb or parking block...

Is the Panzer plate made specifically for VWs or is it generic? Do you need to remove it, when you do oil changes?

Panzer plate is made specifically for the model of VW.
You can remove it for oil changes or buy one of the Pello pump systems that allow you to suck the oil out through the dipstick so that you do not need to raise the car at all.

I have a lift in my shop at home so removing the Panzer plate to do oil changes was no big deal.
I prefer putting the car up anyway so that you can do regular inspections on the under car systems.
Or have a qualified, quality mechanic do this stuff for you.

cheers

Any problems with this low ground clearance? How low does it get when 5 humans get inside?
I read that Camry has even lower GC, than JSW. 5.2 I believe, Camry has.
