Default Anti-theft bolts

New Sportwagen owner here, the last VW I owned was a 73' super beetle. Anyways, had the local tire shop mount some snow tires on a set of Audi rims I bought off of Craigslist. The owner's manual shows a specific location relative to the valve for using the anti-theft bolts. Does it matter? Tire shop of course did not put the anti-theft bolts in the recommended spot.

Welcome to the forum.

I would think the anti-theft bolts have negligible weight difference to the other bolts especially on that smaller radius, VW must calculate this.

Didn't know this. I'll look in my manual when I get the chance.

I put mine in the recycle bin, in the hopes that they will be melted down and made into beer kegs or something useful.

Not sure if you saw my other post but I do straight trades for used VW anti theft lugs for used OEM lugs. You get the lugs with deposit so you can install them and then send yours back. Contrary to popular belief, I'm doing this to collect lug keys, not to steal cars one part at a time, starting with the wheels.
