Do you know what the cost is in the accessory catalog? I'm sure it's more than if it was ordered on the car, but just curious in case I want to get one from my local dealer.

In the accessories catalog says $500 for the spoiler but what I found out that is only if you order the spoiler when you order it with the car, which is installed at the port and painted by the dealership. If you order it from the dealership how much it will cost depends on wither or not the spoiler is painted. When I went to the dealer to see about getting my spoiler installed after I got the car they wanted to for an unpainted spoiler with installation they wanted to charge almost $700 and a total of almost $800 installed if I wanted to have the spoiler painted. Luckily I had a PDF copy of the original order form from when I ordered my car in September( which I do recommend getting if you order a car) which showed that I had ordered the car with the spoiler. When showed it to the Customer Relations Manager at the dealership he ended up worked with me to correct the problem and I ended up paying nothing for the spoiler and installation. I hope this is helpful.

Definitely helpful! Unfortunately I didn't order mine with the spoiler, so I'd have to pay up if I wanted one, but at least this gives me an idea of how much it would cost.

Thanks, I'll take more photos once the weather is better.
Here's my quick overview having owned it a whopping two weeks: Highs: Fit and finish inside and out is very nice for a car at this price/class. The upholstery is nice, seats are firm, good stitching, nice fabric. The exception here is the back seat armrest is stretched fabric; so I’m not keen with the dog riding in the back for fear of that being ripped rather easily. Mileage: too early to know with certainty but averaging 42 in the winter as a mix of city/highway is a good start. Shifter: (I have the 6speed manual) good feel/feedback, love it! Engine: very little diesel ‘chatter’, it’s very quiet, smooth. RNS315 and Dynaudio: sounds very good, bordering on fantastic. All the features are quick to learn and it’s easy to use. The navigation is also better than I expected. The negative here is the need for an equalizer for tuning; mid/treble/bass is a little too basic to get it just right. Handling: yep, it’s a small car and should be nimble, but this really is fun to drive. Lows: Rearview mirror is pretty basic and seems cheap in contrast to the rest of the interior. But easily replaced. Cooling/heating knob is painted just above the dial but does not light. Easy to remember left is cool and right is heat, but seems kind of cheap to have some indication when it’s dark. License plate attachment: sheet metal screw drilled through the plastic? WTF? (4) insert nuts would cost how much, a dollar? I’ll probably do this myself so I’ll document when that happens. No LED tail lights, license plate lights, interior lights. Tech package should have these and the coding already complete. Yes, there is a certain amount of fun in doing this yourself (as detailed on another thread). I’m not put-off by it, but at the same time I think it should be standard. |
