Default 2012 on order

Yesterday I put down a deposit on a 2012 TDI, 2door, 6speed, with the sun/nav pack. I ordered the blue graphite metallic. This will be my first VW, and first new car in over 20years.

I’ve owned a 525i and 540i back to back over the last several years, so this is quite a change for me. I rented a Polo in Spain and drove at least 1000miles over 2 weeks…loved it! Now here I am awaiting mine.

Congrats! I just picked up my '12 TDI DSG Tech 4 door on Monday, coming from a BMW 335i and I'm extremely happy with my choice. It's a great overall package and I find it to be put together at least as well if not better than the BMW and the driving dynamics are excellent. I haven't even thought about the fact that it's fwd while driving, it's just a well sorted ride. I think you'll really enjoy it.

I too have been a big BMW fan for years and have had 3 3 series and a 135i and the new Passat TDI is something to behold. I drove it a week or so ago and it is very close to the drive of a BMW, Benz etc but at a MUCH lower price. The build quality of the VW passat is amazing too

I ended up with a TDI jetta but you are gonna love it

I just picked up a 2012 golf TDI, DSG. I also have an M5 and a 335d (diesel). The golf is very nice and fun to drive. I'll admit that the 335d is still a better driving car but the golf isn't that far behind especially when you consider the price difference and the MPG advantage of the Golf.

We are going out of town tomorrow and we will be taking the golf. Let see what the family thinks from a comparison standpoint.

I have a similarly equipped 4-door 2010 Golf TDI in blue graphite. I drove and loved a 1995 Mercedes E320 for 15-years. Now I drive and love my TDI. I think you will be very happy in your new car.

Default Bgm

I'm more excited about the color now, having flipped through a number of the user posted photos. None of the local dealers have anything on the lot in this blue to see it in person.

The 335d is an awesome machine. If I win the lottery, I'll buy one and keep the Jetta TDI for the winter or something...

After more thought, I changed my order to the Tech package. So for those of you playing the home game the chronology thus far:

Sept 1: place order for sun/nav package, 6spd-man, in BGM
Sept 1-8: lay awake at night wondering if you should have bought the Tech package
Sept 9: call the dealer and change the order to Tech pack

Having to wait until late Oct is killing me. I parked behind the EXACT car I ordered today and stared at it for 5 minutes.
