Default Golf 6 GTD Top Speed

Hi guys.

I've just seen a video on YouTube showing the top speed of this particular GTD 250kph - 155mph at 4400rpm I bet its not standard.

"particular GTD"...you drive a GTD....a friend of yours?

I sure hope his tires are rated for that speed , it's often overlooked thing for high speed runs.

It can't possibly be standard, either that or the speedo is seriously optimistic lol!

My 2003 Ibiza Tdi 130 managed a gps verified 152mph but it has been fiddled with.

I've just seen one doing 270kph but you can't tell its on a road it could be a chassis dyno. The other one showed flashes of the road ahead.

The GTD 6 seems low geared compared to my pd 130 but not sure how this would benefit or disadvantage the car in driving situations.
I often have dreams about my car redlining in 6th gear(4800rpm) but i reckon this would equate to around 190mph so it will remain a distant dream lol!

Have to remember too that this will be the 2L 170bhp model, twin cam isn't it too? It wouldn't suprise me anyway considering I had my crappy old cordoba at 115mph.
